About Me

Amber Shonette Burwell is a mother, grandmother, teacher, certified coach and author, more importantly a lover of and loved by God. Born in Brooklyn N.Y and raised in Queens N.Y Amber relocated to Virginia Beach in the late 90’s. It wasn’t until 2013 that Amber picked up one of her first loves (writing) again under the banner of and by way of HerStory.

As the founder of HerStory the mission is to assist those that have had traumatic experiences, deep wounds and simply stuck in the past to live in purpose in spite of opposition, to stir their gifts all while focusing on Jesus Christ.  

In 2014 Amber would publish her first book and autobiography A Glimpse of Her Story Vol. I at the same time becoming a professional blogger. After this Amber would go on to assist several authors on their own self-publishing journey. 

In 2022 Amber would go on to publish again this time Vol. II of A Glimpse of HerStory entitled “I Am Enough” a book to empower both men and women in their identity and in their soul.    

With other projects in the works such as, Dear Beautiful Soul and Big Ma’s house under the banner of HerStory it’s important to Amber that those entrusted to her release regret and crush condemnation. 

Amber resides in Virginia Beach, Virginia, is a full-time healthcare recruiter and in pursuit of a Bachelor of Science degree.
